Free Webinar to Focus on Selection, Use of Respirators

The AFS Metalcasting Career Center has become the new destination for metalcasting industry employers and job seekers. Located at www.afsinc.org/careercenter, the Career Center has new job descriptions and resumes of prospective employees being posted every day. Job seekers can view job postings for free. Employers pay a small fee to download resumes of prospective applicants. Discounts are available for AFS Members.

CMI Offers Analysis & Reduction of Casting Defects
CMI will be offering an Analysis & Reduction of Casting Defects course September 16-18 at AFS/CMI Headquarters, Schaumburg, Ill. This class offers students a critical analysis of defective castings, types of imperfections, causes and corrective measures for sand molds (green sand, shell, nobake, gas-cured, etc.) Inspection techniques, customers' requirements and the long-range economics of analyzing and minimizing casting defects also are discussed. The workshop sessions allow students to analyze the causes of their own sample defects brought to class.
