Spotlight On: Metalcasting Documentary Premieres May 14
The rescheduled premiere of the documentary Spotlight On: Metalcasting will be available to AFS Members via a webinar on May 14 at 11:00 AM EST. This AFS-sponsored documentary provides an overview of metalcasting and its importance to our world. It also will serve as an educational tool at career fairs and various conferences related to the metalcasting industry.

  • either open or save the file;
  • run through the installation process.

Career Center Helps Find New Metalcasters
The AFS Metalcasting Career Center has become the new destination for metalcasting industry employers and job seekers. Located at www.afsinc.org/careercenter, the Career Center has new job descriptions and resumes of prospective employees being posted every day. Job seekers can view job postings for free. Employers pay a small fee to download resumes of prospective applicants. Discounts are available for AFS Members.

AFS Offers Design Solutions for Corporate Members
The American Foundry Society (AFS), in association with Product Development & Analysis, LLC, now offers Design Solutions, a metalcasting design assistance program for corporate members. It covers all facets of casting design, including failure analysis, reverse engineering, casting process design and simulation, product performance test evaluations, prototyping and production sourcing.

Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing Course Coming
CMI will be offering a Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing course July 8-9 at AFS/CMI headquarters, Schaumburg, Ill. This course will cover the advantages of the geometric dimensioning and tolerancing language. It also will cover a general overview of rules, concepts and tolerances of form, run out and location, datum principles/applications, and concludes with a summary.
